Hanging 3.5 inches from the tops of my hand-made Argentium (low tarnish) sterling silver ear wires, they will display graceful movement and striking flair.
This variety of opal is named for its small inclusions resembling moss or ferns, created from iron, manganese, and other metallic oxides that harden within the stone. These metals provide both the color and design of the stone.
The body of these beads are off-white with a milky sheen. Instead of the flashy play-of-color seen in other opals, these beads display moody, web-like inclusions in black, gray, and brown shades. Whether you see mystery or whimsy, they are absolutely beautiful.
